Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
⚡ Short version: Momentum stores your habits, streaks, and mood data only on your device. We never see it, never sell it, never share it. The only external data we collect is anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used.
1. Who we are
Momentum is a free Progressive Web App (PWA) habit tracker available at teo-momentum-pwapp.netlify.app. It is an independent project, not affiliated with any corporation.
2. Data stored on your device
All personal data you enter into Momentum — including your habits, streak history, mood logs, focus session counts, and settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device
- We have no access to it
- It is not transmitted to any server
- It is not backed up to any cloud
- Clearing your browser data will permanently erase it
We recommend using the Export Data feature in Settings to regularly back up your data as a CSV file.
3. Analytics we collect
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. GA4 collects:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Country (not city or precise location)
- Anonymous events: habit added, focus session completed, mood logged, install prompt shown/accepted
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual users from it. No names, email addresses, or personal identifiers are included. GA4 data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.
4. Email collection (Pro waitlist)
If you submit your email address via the Pro waitlist form on our landing page or in the app, that email is stored securely via Netlify Forms and is subject to Netlify's Privacy Policy. We use it only to notify you when Momentum Pro becomes available. We will never sell your email or send unsolicited marketing.
5. Cookies
Momentum itself does not set cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out of GA4 tracking by using a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Third-party services
- Netlify — hosting and form submissions. Privacy policy →
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics. Privacy policy →
- GitHub — source code hosting. Privacy policy →
7. Children's privacy
Momentum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Since we don't collect personal data (other than optional email for the waitlist), there is little to request. However, you can:
- Delete your app data — clear localStorage in your browser settings at any time
- Export your data — use the Export button in the app Settings tab
- Opt out of analytics — use a browser ad-blocker or the GA4 opt-out extension
- Remove your email — email us and we will delete your waitlist entry
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Continued use of Momentum after changes constitutes acceptance.
